90 x 120 cm

acrylic and cold wax on wood

painted on a deep edge custom wooden panel

There’s something magical about wandering beneath a forest canopy, where branches weave overhead and glimpses of sky appear between the leaves.

Wandering Above captures that feeling of looking up as you walk — surrounded by colour, movement and the ever-changing patterns of the forest above. It’s a little moment of wonder, where the world feels both expansive and wonderfully close.

Painted from memory, I build the surface through layers of organic marks, paint effects and pattern, creating rich visual texture across the wooden panel. The finished painting is harmonised and protected with a layer of cold wax, giving the surface a soft, gentle glow.

Painted on a deep edge wooden panel, with edges painted in a mid grey-green tone, initialled on the front, signed on the back and ready to hang.
