90 x 120 cm

acrylic and cold wax on wood

painted on a deep edge custom wooden panel

A celebration of that feeling when everything seems to be going your way — the colours are brighter, the air feels lighter and you can’t help but smile.

High on Life captures the exhilaration of being out in nature and simply feeling good to be there. Full of colour, movement and playful energy, it’s a reminder to take in everything around you — looking up, looking around, breathing deeply and enjoying the moment.

Painted over a bright pink ground, I’ve allowed flashes of that colour to peek through the layers, adding a lively spark and helping to create the painting’s sense of energy and movement. Painted from memory, I build the surface through layers of organic marks, paint effects and pattern, before harmonising and protecting it with a layer of cold wax that gives the finished surface a gentle glow.

Painted on a deep edge wooden panel, with edges painted in a mid grey tone, initialled on the front, signed on the back and ready to hang.
