100 x 150 cm

acrylic and cold wax on wood

framed in solid raw oak (total size 103 x 153 cm)

Coming Home is a celebration of that wonderful feeling of finding a place where you simply belong.

Inspired by the peace and sense of wonder I feel among the trees of Western Australia’s South West, Coming Home is about returning to nature and finding yourself restored by it. Layered colour, texture and movement create a luminous, dreamlike forest — a place to pause, breathe and feel at home.

Painted from memory and imagination, through a layering process that develops  organic mark making and fun paint effects. Paint is added using spatulas, spreaders, large palette knives and printing tools. Areas have been sanded and scratched to reveal surprising colour combinations and shapes. The surface becomes textured where thick and thin paint combine to create a unique appearance - then harmonised with a cold wax finish to give a soft glow.

Dressed in a solid oak frame, initialled on the front, signed on the back and ready to hang.
